James Nestor

James Nestor is a San Francisco-based journalist and author of Deep: Freediving, Renegade Science, and What the Ocean Tells Us about Ourselves. He also directs the sperm whale communication project CETI (Cetacean Echolocation Translation Initiative). Over the course of his career as a journalist, Nestor has written for The New York Times, Outside Magazine, Men's Journal, Scientific American, The San Francisco Chronicle, National Public Radio, and more.
